Pando Mountain Provisions started from an accident; Kate and her husband were grilling elk steaks for dinner and just pulled random spices and herbs from the cabinet, grilled it up, and were amazed at what they'd made. They spent the rest of that summer trying to replicate that evening's blend and finally created Mountain Man Wild Game Rub.
After that, neighbors opened Etta Place Cidery and requested Kate's spices to sell in their shop, and that gave Kate the push she needed to incorporate and share what she'd made on a bigger scale.

Kate trained at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, then moved home to the Utah desert. Trying new foods and cooking for others brings her the most joy. Her spice blends allow home cooks to try new things and to bring a little bit of adventure into their home kitchen or grill.
